Nut Mixture:
6 tablespoons butter
1 cup brown sugar

2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 cup chopped nuts

Cream the butter, brown sugar and cinnamon well; add nuts.
Batter:
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs

2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 pint (1 cup) sour cream

- Preheat oven to 350°. Grease and flour 10-inch tube pan or Bundt pan.
- Cream the shortening, sugar and vanilla thoroughly.
- Add the eggs and beat well.
- Sift flour, baking powder and baking soda together; add this and the sour cream to creamed mixture, blending well after each addition.
- Spread half of the batter in the prepared pan. Over this sprinkle half of the nut mixture. Cover with remaining batter; sprinkle on second half of nut mixture.
- Bake at 350° for 40-45 minutes.
