| Special PackagesHurricane Katrina Status One month ago, the unthinkable occurred. Hurricane Katrina blew through both Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana with all her strength and might. We all know it took out basically the whole Gulf Coast area of both Mississippi and much of Louisiana, but it also managed to find its way up here as far as the Jackson, MS area. We were all without power MANY days, trying to house many displaced people, some having horses and the rest horseless lost souls, searching for a dry, comfortable place to call "Home" if only for a few days. Even with no power and scorching high temperatures during that week, everyone "got along" amazingly well, pitched in and helped each other, and basically made the best of a bad situation. Sometimes God has a way of telling us that everything will be all right, we just need to remember "Him" when our troubles are too much to bear! Anyway, Oakdale Farms is now up and running at full speed. We have one room we are not renting out long term, so if anyone needs a short term stay, please call upon us here. (10/1/2005) |
