Ride with the Kids
Riding can be a magical experience for kids. Learning to control a 900-1,300 pound animal and sitting nearly 6 feet off the ground can be a real thrill. Evaluate your child’s maturity level carefully when you schedule riding. We’ve had 12-year-olds who had extreme difficulty while mature five-year-olds did well on their own horse with a lead-line held by the instructor staying with the rest of the group on the trails. Younger kids don’t have the balance and control of their own bodies yet to ride by themselves.
A respect for animals, good listening skills and a significant attention span are necessary to enjoy the riding experience. Our 10 year old loves having guest kids to show around and help her play with her stuff in her room! Our dog and kitties are very child-friendly as well.

The cats and Fluffy dog will check regularly to see if you need company. The supply of lemonade and tea is plentiful.
Or, sit in the hot tub and read, day or night. You can come anytime, but Sunday through Thursday are quieter.

Horse Around at First Farm
Two midweek days with horseback riding for
two $306 in our "1870s Room" or $324 in "Treetops." Includes access to the outdoor hot tub, enjoying the air conditioning or sitting by the real wood fire and spacious rooms with private baths. In-room massages available.
Three midweek days with horseback riding for two $378 or $441.
Rides include helping to groom and tack up and last two hours. A maximum of four riders are taken out in a group with instruction geared to each individual's riding ability. Children and fearful riders can be led. Additional rides may be added for $50 per person per ride. Really Learn to Ride
Learn to ride in Kentucky’s horse country. At First Farm Inn you’ll learn how to communicate with your trusty equine friend and convince all 900-1,500 pounds of him to do what you want. Then we ride over the hills and through the woods keeping an eye out for other wild and domesticated creatures. Rides generally only include up to five riders and one or two instructors. After you make your horse comfortable, you can stretch out and watch the sun set from the outdoor hot tub. Wake up smelling the delicious all-you-can-eat breakfast. Then take the horses out again and practice the new skills your body has integrated during the night.
Two midweek nights with breakfast, use of the hot tub, two horseback rides for each of you $387 in the 1870s room, $432 in the Treetops room. Weekends $432 in the 1870s room, $450 in the Treetops room. Add a one-hour massage for each person $120.
Movie Marathon
Whether the weather is too hot or too cold for your tastes or rain is predicted for the entire weekend, you can get away and get out of your routine with a personal movie marathon at First Farm Inn.
Help yourself to Dana’s extensive collection and stretch out in the queen-sized bed with a pile of pillows in complete privacy and watch. We supply the popcorn and sodas. Two midweek nights for $234. Three midweek nights for $342. Two weekend nights for $252.
Add massages and horseback riding if you’d like. You’ll also enjoy great breakfasts and the outdoor hot tub.
Horse Around With the Girls Weekend
Get a group of girlfriends, sisters, cousins, bridesmaids or a combination together and come to First Farm Inn for a country escape weekend. Arrive Friday afternoon or evening and rock on porch or sit by the fire and catch up on the girlfriend news.
Wake to a tasty homemade breakfast, then head out to the barn to ride the horses. Visit in the outdoor hot tub before your hour-long massages. Sunday morning will bring another great breakfast. $212 per person for 3 to 6 people.
Great Antiquing Headquarters
First Farm Inn is just a short drive from Miamitown, Ohio, antique shops, just 20 minutes to the big Florence Antique Mall, six miles to Burlington Antiques and nearly every summer weekend there is a special Sunday antique show. Richwood Flea Market is open every weekend as well as Tuesday mornings. Book now, our summer weekends fill up quickly.
