| Introduction |
|
This central Kentucky bed and breakfast is surrounded by a picturesque
farm with miles of black fences, grazing cattle and rolling hills. Originally built in 1916, the house has been completely renovated and decorated with antiques and handmade items. |

Barnes Mill is located in Richmond, Kentucky only one-half mile off I-75 (exit #87, highway 876W). Richmond, home of Eastern Kentucky University, is a short 20 minute drive south of Lexington.
The house has had a diverse and somtimes colorful past. While traveling to the construction site of the house, the original owner rode in an open buggy during a chilling rain. He caught pneumonia and died before ever getting a chance to live in his dream home.
Richmond's supply of milk delivery originated from our driveway as it was home to the proprietor of the Deatherage Dairy. The most controversial occupants were members of a fraternity during the "free love" years of the 1970's. Rumors of wild parties are still told in the town.
Fortunately, for the bed and breakfast traveler, Barnes Mill now maintains its original victorian elegance and old south charm. Four guest rooms furnished with antiques await your visit!
These are only a few of the many area attractions surrounding Barnes Mill. Come stay with us, we can help you plan your heartland of Kentucky sightseeing activities.
