This Prairie style four-square home is surrounded by acres of rich fertile farmland and nestled in the grassland region of the Flint Hills, just moments from historic Abilene. The home was built by Deb's grandfather, Henry Delker, as a wedding gift to his bride Emma. In keeping with tradition, Windmill Inn invites honeymoon and anniversary couples to experience romance and make new memories. Business travelers or those who just want to stop the world and take a break, will discover a new meaning of peace and tranquilly.

"We were delighted to reach our lavender oasis in the midst of a green and gold desert of Kansas wheat fields. Instead of camels with bulging humps we had ostriches with bulging middles, our desert pool of refreshing water was a whirling spa, our travelers tent a lovely home with a window seat view of heads of wheat that spread out like grains of sand in all directions." Special attention has been given to every detail of the restoration, down to the beautiful egg and dart trim and brilliant stained and beveled glass in the common area. Either the swing or wrap-around porch is the perfect setting for enjoying tasty hors d'oeuvres, conversation and the sights and sounds of country life. The therapeutic spa gives you the chance to truly relax and bask under the stars. |
In the morning, you'll awake to the aroma of home cooking as your full country breakfast is being prepared. You will be served in the large sunlit dining room or maybe you'll prefer homebaked muffins and just to sip morning coffee on the porch overlooking our farm and tranquil gardens.
Whatever memories you take home, here you will find excellent food, a cozy room, friendship and a haven for enjoying life's pleasures and a base for exploring KANSAS!
