Help us solve the mystery at the Northrup House Bed and Breakfast in Iola, Kansas. We offer Murder Mystery Nights as an extra feature of a night’s stay at this elegant Bed & Breakfast. We have put together a package for our guests that includes an elegant dinner, dessert, and "who done it?" Murder intrigue, overnight accommodations and a full breakfast in the morning.
Murder Mysteries can be done in one or two evening mysteries. Also available if you’re not spending the night.
The prices for an overnight mystery are $159, $169 or $189 per couple plus tax, depending on which room you choose. This includes the mystery, dinner, dessert, one-night accommodations, and a full breakfast. The prices for a weekend mystery are $259, $269, and $309 per couple plus tax, depending on room choice. This includes a Friday evening reception, the mystery, dinner on Saturday night, two night’s accommodations, and two full breakfasts. We can accommodate up to 9 couples.
"For Women Only" -- we have put together a murder mystery slumber party, with no men allowed. This is for a group of at least 8 ladies, but can have more. The price is $79 + tax per lady. This includes the mystery, dinner, dessert, one night accommodation (2 ladies per room) and a full breakfast. We have four different "ladies only" mysteries to choose from: "Pushing up the Daisies," "Bump Off at the Beauty Shop," "High Tea at the Liberty Library," and "Matrimony, Murder and Mayhem."
About a week prior to your mystery, you will receive your character information and costume suggestions. When you arrive you will receive a character packet with everything you will need for the mystery. We will go over the rules and how to play and you will have new information about your character revealed and then the interrogating begins. You’ll have plenty of time to gather the necessary clues to help solve the mystery. After dinner, more clues and interrogating and attempts to solve the mystery. We will top off the evening with dessert and the solution to the mystery, or if preferred, over breakfast the next morning.
Overnight Murder Mysteries are scheduled regularly on Friday and/or Saturday evenings. Call or email for available dates or invite your friends and book your own private party any day of the year.
We have also developed mysteries for people who choose not to spend the night. We call them Mini-Mysteries. They can be held any week night, or an afternoon, if you prefer. The cost is $19.95 per person plus tax and complimentary refreshments are served. They last approximately 3 hours.
We have several different mysteries to choose from so you can come back and not be doing the same mystery. We have mysteries for couples, women only, teens, and girls birthday parties.
Murder Mystery Cancellation Policy - Since there is so much preparation that goes into making our murder mysteries a success, we do require a two week cancellation for both the one night or weekend mysteries.
